The Unseen Struggle: Why Heritage Within Exists
Society assumes that everyone can trace their lineage, that everyone wants to seek out their biological roots, and that identity is incomplete without a family tree. But the reality is far more complex—and for many, it’s isolating.
The Need for Change in Numbers
7 million adoptees in the U.S. alone face societal pressure to reconnect with birth families, despite many feeling no personal need to do so. (U.S. Census Bureau)

And yet—there are virtually no support systems dedicated to those who choose to define themselves outside of biological lineage. At Heritage Within, we believe no one should have to justify their identity.
